scarf
09 February 2012 @ 12:45
Many apologies for my lack of posts, it's been a few weeks since I last updated.
So in between the last post and this post, I have finally finished my first scarf. I thought it would turn out weird at first because of how the yarn colors are like, but I think it turned out to be pretty nice. But it's not for me, it's for someone very special~ It's quite warm too n______n
Kai went to Miami for a business convention... Miami weather would be really nice right now. He returned on Sunday and brought back a keychain from there :)
And I thought I'd get all my cards done by now (or way before now, actually), but I only sent out Leo's. And that was all the way in January. ;_; /slacking

catching fire
17 January 2012 @ 23:24
I finished reading Catching Fire this morning at like 3am lol. It was actually pretty good; It's half of what I expected, half of not what I expected at all. But overall, I really liked it and am looking forward to read Mockingjay. :)
And I wanted to buy Mockingjay today, but it was raining and I think I left my umbrella at Kai's place. I wanted to sit at Starbucks and read for a few good hours too, I didn't really want to stay at home today even though I hate going out in the rain. I guess I can (somewhat?) do that tomorrow though. Maybe.
I have also been listening to a lot of Hilary Duff lately, since Kai and I watched The Lizzie McGuire movie together. The movie was a little silly and childish (durrrr, cause it's mostly directed towards kids anyway) to be honest, but I missed watching old stuff like that! I still really enjoyed it though. Plus I never actually watched the movie when I was younger.
Go on, relive those Disney days~

I did these a few days ago, and I feel pretty awesome. Except them glitter hearts were probably overkill, but oh well.
I love glitter nail polish, but taking it off makes me want to cut off my fingers :(
Also got some more nail polish. Yay for blurry pictures.
First row is Essie's Shine of the Times (part of their
Luxeffects collection), Essie's Brooch the Subject, OPI San Tan-tonio (to be honest, I just bought that one so I could try some
Rilakkuma face on them nails), OPI Black Shatter (very late on this bandwagon, yes), and China Glaze Haunting. Second row is Essie's Happily Ever After, Essie's School of Hard Rocks, and OPI's Excuse Moi!.
I used Brooch the Subject and it's a really nice nude color. I like leopard print :)
My other hand, because I wanted to try on more than one. School of Hard Rocks + Shine of the Times on one of my fingers. It's so pretty, but I wish that the flakes were larger~
Somehow I think holding something in my hand makes it look less manly. Sort of.
I also picked up Catching Fire. Couldn't help myself, haha. I hope I'll enjoy it as much as The Hunger Games, although I'm already slightly disappointed by it because I can sort of see where it's going. Plus, there probably won't be
awesome killing/survival action in it either. Hopefully I'll prove myself wrong.

Aperture Laboratory mug, yeah!
Kai got this for me a while ago, but I sort of forgot to show it off and blag about it. So here it is.
For the past week or so, I have been reading The Hunger Games. I've seen it on shelves before but never really picked it up until I heard Kyle and Michael talking about it.
I just finished it yesterday, but I wish there were more to read since it's such a good book. I kind of want to read the next two books, but I've heard that they aren't as good as the first one and that the end of Mockingjay is pretty disappointing. But I guess "good" is kind of subjective anyway.
And since I want to read more, I will leave you/myself with a list of books I'd like to read. I'll be adding more books (possibly) as I go along~
The Tales of Beedle the Bard
How to Live Safely in a Science Fictional Universe
Life, the Universe, and Everything
So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish
Young Zaphod Plays it Safe
Mostly Harmless
Cashflow Quadrant
Packing for Mars: The Curious Science of Life in the Void
The Perks of Being a Wallflower
Battle Royale
Finished:
The Hunger Games 1/5/2012 <- that counts
Catching Fire 1/17/2012
Mockingjay 3/9/2012

Cheese?
NOPE. MAY I PRESENT TO YOU WALTER THE GOOSE, who is very smart because he's from Waterloo.
He now sits on top of my lamp, since he has already promoted himself as leader of the creatures on my desk (Charlie the plant and Frederick the rubber duck). Thank you, Kyle!
Also been sort of busy these past couple of days, which explains my long absence. I've been with Kai for some quality alone time ♥. Cannot do at my house, since that stupid kid keeps on hanging around us whenever he's over. My sister keeps laughing about that too, since she knows that we want our time alone but the kid keeps on talking to Kai. We have also been to trainings and home presentations with his partners and team :)
And I still haven't mailed out my Christmas stuff yet, even though it's way past Christmas. They'll make their way there soon! ...Eventually. Maybe you should all just wait until next year so I can send both of them at once. *saves money*
Happy new year to you too~

Special day today because my parents have finally decided to turn the heat on.
It's also Christmas Eve today. It doesn't really feel like Christmas though, we don't even have a tree up this year and we're probably not going to have one of those nice Christmas dinners. But oh well. Merry Christmas anyway!
(By the way, your gifts will be very late. Ha. Ha. Ha.)

But yes, I did. (Again.)
I bought Justin Bieber nail polish.
This one is so pretty though (Justin Bieber is always pretty n_______n). It has glittery hearts! Who can't resist glittery hearts~
My camera is kind of wonky. If you look kind of closely, you can see lines through the picture. I'm not surprised though, it's like an 8 year old camera lol. Apparently the shutter was stuck closed, and one option to fix it was the bang it on some wood. So I did. And it worked. This is the first time that hitting something against something else fixed a problem haha.
I also went to buy some presents today. I hope you guys appreciate Justin Bieber as much as I do ;)

Being with Kai totally goes against what I told myself. About wanting to know someone for a few years to build that strong foundation, about having this huge common ground of video games and good academics and being nerdy in general. He's not the dream ideal person that I wrote about while ago, and doesn't have most of the characteristics in that 'what attracts me in a guy' post that I deleted. He's only academically smart if he finds a reason to put effort into it. He's only slightly taller than I am and doesn't have a "good sense" of style. In fact, he doesn't even care how he looks like half the time (except for his hair). He doesn't play video games; he used to, but he knows that he gets addicted to them way too easily so he stopped. His hands are far from soft - they're callus-y and they've suffered from so many burns and cuts and boxing injuries. If anything, he's the complete opposite of what I expected, and I still really like him for who he is.
I have a really good feeling about him, though. The traits that I listed in the past were mostly skin-deep and have nothing to do with what you can judge from appearance and habits. We may not have had the time to build a strong foundation at first, but that doesn't mean we're not building it now.
But I have 2 finals tomorrow (aka later on today)... I should be studying instead of thinking of this stuff. I'm craving for something chocolatey too.

.....I slept at around 1 last night and I woke up at 2 this afternoon. Wow. I haven't done that in a while.
I have also been stuffing myself with Ritz crackers lately. They're really tasty with hummus, ham, and tomato!
This post is sort of uninteresting, so I will be like James and leave you with this. It's called "Must Be Dreaming" by Frou Frou. The music video is sort of weird to me, but the song is so... upbeat and calming at the same time. If that makes any sense.
