shatter
23 February 2012 @ 12:18

Today's breakfast. Figures that I should eat a more balanced breakfast when I nearly passed out after 30 or so minutes of playing tag. I should start exercising again too, I haven't really done any physical activity after high school ;_;.

And dat shatter nail polish, finally tried it out after having it lying around for about a month. I like watching it slowly "shatter," haha. So tacky, but so cool at the same time~

ombre nails
12 January 2012 @ 22:11
I did these a few days ago, and I feel pretty awesome. Except them glitter hearts were probably overkill, but oh well.

I love glitter nail polish, but taking it off makes me want to cut off my fingers :(

Also got some more nail polish. Yay for blurry pictures.

First row is Essie's Shine of the Times (part of their Luxeffects collection), Essie's Brooch the Subject, OPI San Tan-tonio (to be honest, I just bought that one so I could try some Rilakkuma face on them nails), OPI Black Shatter (very late on this bandwagon, yes), and China Glaze Haunting. Second row is Essie's Happily Ever After, Essie's School of Hard Rocks, and OPI's Excuse Moi!.

I used Brooch the Subject and it's a really nice nude color. I like leopard print :)

My other hand, because I wanted to try on more than one. School of Hard Rocks + Shine of the Times on one of my fingers. It's so pretty, but I wish that the flakes were larger~

Somehow I think holding something in my hand makes it look less manly. Sort of.

I also picked up Catching Fire. Couldn't help myself, haha. I hope I'll enjoy it as much as The Hunger Games, although I'm already slightly disappointed by it because I can sort of see where it's going. Plus, there probably won't be awesome killing/survival action in it either. Hopefully I'll prove myself wrong.

planks a lot
06 October 2011 @ 13:39
........I bought more nail polish.

They are called, from left to right: In Stitches, Skull and Glossbones, Planks a Lot, Ocean Love Potion, Stranger Tides, and Chick Flick Cherry.

Skull and Glossbones and Planks a Lot are my favorites out of all the nail polish I own so far, even though I just got them yesterday. I probably would have never even thought of buying a red polish, but I guess a little bit of change from my usual muted colors is good. Even though I may or may not use it at all.

oh no i didn't

But yes, I did. I bought Justin Bieber's nail polish.

I've been looking for a nice purple nail polish for a while, but the ones that I found were either too light, too dark, or shimmery/holographic... which I don't really like. And then Justin Bieber comes to the rescue with a nice solid purple nail polish called I'm A Belieber. I also got that Sally Hansen glitter polish called Twinkle Twinkle. I really like nail polish names, they seem very cute to me for some reason.

Mmmmm look at dat Justin Bieber face~ Couldn't get my camera to focus though, sorry about that. Or maybe you're thankful if you're like Steven.

I think it looks really tacky alone because it's kind of bright and paleish at the same time... if that makes sense. Maybe think of those old MS Paint purples fused together...? Then I tried it over black polish and it looks a lot better, so I'm happy! I'm not really going to bother with pictures though, since the lighting plus camera makes it look more blueish than purplish.

Justin Bieber's nail polish line is actually pretty... pretty. I probably wouldn't wear most of the colors, but they look really nice sitting in their bottles. Like magical love potions or something. Haha.

nail polish and ice coffee
19 August 2011 @ 09:34
(My camera works! Yesterday night I decided to try to fix it and I just turned it on and... it just magically works.)

I went out yesterday to buy some boots from Target, but neither pair that I wanted was in stock. So I just got sad and stormed my way to that nail polish store after I bought tweezers.

I usually tend to buy the darker/more muted colors, if you can't tell already. Left to right is Glitzerland and Suzi Takes the Wheel by OPI, and Sew Psyched and Merino Cool from Essie. The actual colors are slightly darker/more "bold" in person, bleh. :(

Also, I think I just made the best ice coffee ever. Maybe not the best, but it's comparable to ice lattes from Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. Take a cup of coffee grounds and soak it overnight in the fridge with around 6 1/2 cups of cold water, then strain it out the next day.

Fill a cup with ice and fill it 2/3 of the way with the coffee, then the rest with milk (I'm fine with milk as long as I can't taste it) and about a tablespoon of sugar, more or less depending on your taste I guess. Who knew it's so easy to make iced coffee that tastes good :)

Michelle, Albert, and I went to IHOP today to eat :) I ordered this raspberry mocha coffee which tasted terrible and these strawberry-banana pancakes that tasted awesome, although I think the blueberry pancakes taste better :9 We did not leave the waitress a cheap tip this time, unlike all the other times where Michelle and Albert and I left the waitresses cheap tips because we were broke.

Michelle and I also bought some more nail polish yay :D The colors I got are called Black Onyx, Angora Cardi (which is this really pretty dusty rose kind of color), and Hot Coco. I know I already have a brown nail polish, but Over The Taupe kind of has a purplish tint to it - it's not very noticeable, but yeah. I wanted one that resembles more of a chocolate color :>

And then we went to Dunkin' Donuts just to chill for a while, since Michelle wanted to talk about some personal stuff. Her apartment would have been nicer to be in since it'd be more comfortable, but she didn't want to go because her mom was home and didn't want her to hear what she had to say. I also took my physics assignment there. I got stuck on a few problems, but finished about a third of it. :)

After that, we went to some senior care center to visit Michelle's grandma and stayed there for about an hour just talking to her and keeping her company. It was mostly Michelle talking though, since her grandma can't talk much except for saying "mo" (kind of like "none" in Canto) and laughing. It's really depressing there. :( We were on the third floor and all their patients were lined up in the hallway outside of their rooms because apparently it's easier to supervise/take care of them that way. It kind of reminded me of a prison, I think. There was this other woman who wanted to tell me and Albert this story, and all she said was that she didn't have teeth, over and over again. As horrible as it sounds, it's a very scary place to be in. Most of the people there don't even get visits from their family. :/

There was this really hot nurse there though

Albert also gave Michelle and me Valentine's notes! It made me feel quite special since nobody really gives handwritten notes anymore except for on stuff like birthday and Christmas cards. THANK YOU ALBERT!! ♥ ♥ ♥

Oh, and this was the origami zergling I was making. I fail. :(

over the taupe
07 January 2011 @ 21:40
We got our exam results back today, I got an 84. :( I could have gotten something in the low-mid 90s if I hadn't made so many stupid mistakes, like forgetting to do an extra step of simplifying or forgetting to put a negative sign in front of a number. I always forget to do little things like that. I should double-check my answers more often. :/ I think Mystery Hot Guy had a really surprised expression on his face when he got his exam back, so it either means that he a) did really bad on the exam and thought that he did better, or b) did really good on his exam and didn't expect to do so well. I'm thinking it's a) 8|

I went to Main St to meet Michelle and Albert after class. Mystery Hot Guy went on the same bus that I did, I don't think he usually takes the 27 bus to Flushing :O But he got off the last stop just like I did, and he was sitting in the front and I was sitting in the back and he went to the back to get off. Michelle said that I should talk to him and go up to him to say something like "Hey, you're in my math class!" (not bold enough for that), while Albert said that I should say "Hey, you're in my math class! How big is your penis?" lolol

...I think I should kinda stop talking about Mystery Hot Guy so much, because I don't even know him and he could be a totally hot person with an unattractive personality.

I also met this sort of creepy guy at the bus stop too, I thought he was just being nice to me when he jokingly asked if I wanted to sit down (because y'know, it was snowing but the snow wasn't sticking so it just made the benches by the bus stop all wet), and then proceeded to introduce himself and ask questions about me. Creepy thing is, he's like maybe in his late 20s - early 30s? And we both got off at the last stop too, we walked like a block together before going our separate ways and he kept on hinting that he wanted to stay in contact and said that he's not good with "pretty girls like me" and I'm just all wtf awkwaaaaaarrrrrd --

But anyway, Michelle showed me these places where you can get nail polish for a pretty cheap price. The places are pretty ghetto-looking, like warehouses. But the nail polish there is legit and not fake, so I'm happy! I bought a brownish one and a coral-ish one, as well as a much-needed base coat, because I've been being cheap and using clear nail polish instead (which doesn't help much, since the nail polish still pretty much stains my nails). I can't really imagine myself using the coral-colored one, because I don't wear anything pink. I'll give it to my sister if anything, she's been wanting a coral-colored polish for a while~

And after that, we just went to Michelle's house and chilled for a bit. We painted our nails and watched The Sorcerer's Apprentice and did slightly nerdy things:

We're making an absolute value of x if you can't tell.

And now I'm finishing up on painting my nails. The brown nail polish is gorgeous! It's called "Over The Taupe," haha~ The color is slightly different because of bad lighting though.

My fingers look pretty weird here. I'm pretty bad at painting my nails actually, I just slather the nail polish on my nail because I always end up painting outside of my nail no matter how careful I am. I actually cleaned up a bit (aka peeling off the nail polish on my skin) before taking that picture. And I probably mess up about 8 or 9 times before all the nails are perfect. Michelle is pretty good at painting her nails :|
