An ugly spinach omelet with chai tea. I never noticed that wilted spinach is one of my favorite foods until today. (My omelets sometimes turn into scrambled eggs too.)
And I said that I would aim for 2 or 3 posts a week in the previous post... which was about a month ago. I think once a week is more realistic for me, haha.
I have not been blogging as much as I used to. The last post on this page was from January, hahaha... So starting from today, I'm going to try to fit around 2 or 3 posts a week, maybe more. Nothing interesting happens to me often though, so I will just be filling this up with the little things.
I have recently been treating myself to good breakfasts after eating cereal, toast, and granola bars for weeks. It looks healthy, but I actually cheated and put mounds of cream cheese on the plate, under the eggs. Tastes awesome though. I like my breakfasts to be colorful, it puts me in a good mood~
Also been playing around with carving erasers into stamps. I remember reading about this on some other blag and I thought it was cool, so I wanted to try too. I have no idea what I'll be using them for, but it's kind of fun making them. Who knows, maybe one day I'll carve out a very detailed Zergling stamp.
.....I slept at around 1 last night and I woke up at 2 this afternoon. Wow. I haven't done that in a while.
I have also been stuffing myself with Ritz crackers lately. They're really tasty with hummus, ham, and tomato!
This post is sort of uninteresting, so I will be like James and leave you with this. It's called "Must Be Dreaming" by Frou Frou. The music video is sort of weird to me, but the song is so... upbeat and calming at the same time. If that makes any sense.
Huh, it's been a while since I posted. Not much has happened in between this post and last week's post because I have mostly been playing Minecraft with James, Kyle, and Steven for the past few days. "Mostly" as in from 11 am to 1 or 2 am heh. I'll possibly make a Minecraft post so I can show off what we've been working on. It's also an excuse for updating and having additional content on my blag.
Other than Minecraft, Teresa and I went to Mekong, which is a Thai/Vietnamese restaurant, for a late lunch on Saturday! I walked to Main Street and Teresa said that the restaurant was "about five blocks away" - That was a total lie. It was more like 20 blocks.
Anyway it's been a long while since I saw/talked to her in person. The last time was when she came over to my house to make pancakes and peppermint bark, which was half a year ago. We originally made plans with each other around two months or so before but they kept on getting pushed back because we were lazy/had dentist appointments/forgot.
The food from Mekong was good, and the portions were huge! Neither of us could finish ours. She ordered some pork or beef thang:
And I got pho with grilled chicken.
We ordered Thai iced tea as well~ It was my first time trying it - I thought it was a little bit on the sweet side, but it was still really good nonetheless.
After eating, we went to some Korean supermarket that was right next door and Teresa bought a spoon. She wanted to get one of those Asian soup spoons but we couldn't find any, so she just settled for a big spoon haha. Being the cheap people we were and not wanting to pay for bus fare, walked back to my neighborhood to get some bubble tea from Carnation Bakery - I love the bubble tea from there ♥
All the pictures are Teresa's, I didn't have my camera on me and my phone camera makes obnoxious snapping sounds even if it's on silent.
And I don't know if it's normal, but walking long distances makes my ass hurt the next day. :|
After reading Steven's latest blag post, I sort of realized why my past relationships were such a fail.
It's because I don't give it enough time. I'm talking about the time before the relationship; all of the ones I've had in the past, I knew/got to know the person for <5 months and just jumped right in. There was even one where I went out with a guy that kissed me on the second time we hung out... Pretty bad, I know. I mean for being a girl and all, I've always wanted that kind of fairytale/drama romance where you know the person for a few years and then you end up falling for each other eventually or something haha. Like really get to know the person, be close friends, actually know them on a personal level before doing anything.
For about half of those relationships I've been in, there were a lot of things that ticked me off about the other person that I didn't know about because I didn't get to know them better. Like spitting. Ewww. One of the things I don't like at all is excessive pda. I'm fine with things like holding hands or small kisses or holding each other, anything beyond that is sort of gross to me to do in public lol. Like trying to kiss my neck or make out in public. No. Just no. Not that I've actually made out with anyone before though. But what I really really really really hate is when the other person gets jealous easily. I guess it's sort of cute at first but it ends up getting really... unattractive when they start saying things that imply what you can and can't do. It really made me feel miserable, because I honestly felt like I was being selfish/not good enough/generally bad at being a girlfriend whenever that happened. Then I finally came to my senses and said "sorry bitch, this is my life" except in a nicer way.
So Steven is totally right about building a strong foundation before anything begins. I won't make that mistake again and will be a happy Asian with a happy Asian or non-asian boyfriend/girlfriend. :)
Oh and this was today's yesterday's breakfast. I haven't done breakfast posts in a while and was thinking of taking a picture yesterday morning, but I forgot and ate like half of it before I remembered. It's french toast with blueberries and kiwi :) Sorry for the dark picture though, it was dark in the morning.
And for some reason, I tend to cut my food into square/rectangular shapes. I guess it makes it look neater or something.
And that cake I was eating a few days ago. Mmmmmm.
FUN FUN FUN FUN. Dammit if James never showed me that song my life would be so much better.
Michelle, Albert, and I went to Bowne Park today~ The weather was awesome (warm enough for tank tops/shorts!) and there were lots of geese and a few ducks in the water - seems like a lot more than what Kissena Park usually has. The pond seemed dirty as hell though, there was this thin film of oil/algae/????? on top of the water. The geese didn't seem to mind too much.
It's cute how the kids at the park fed the geese :D
Except when some of the geese got pretty viscous over the food and started attacking the other geese.
These stupid white kids at the park were prodding a turtle in the pond with a long plank of wood. One of them picked the turtle up with the end of the plank and chucked/threw it back into the pond D: After they left, we went over to check if the turtle was ok and we think it's dead because it wasn't moving or sticking its head out. And then we just hoped that the turtle was dead before the stupid kids messed with it ;_;
Buuuut there was this other really cute/annoying kid that fell down on his scooter in front of us, and Albert was like, "Oh, are you ok little buddy?" and the he replied something along the lines of "Yeah, I'm a scooter champion." After a while, the kid and Albert start talking a bit:
Kid: Did you know that ducks eat worms?
Albert: I had a pet duck. (obviously bsing)
Kid: Did you have a pet worm too?
Albert: Nooo, because the duck would eat the worm. And then I'd be sad.
After we left the kid and were at the bus stop, Michelle and I couldn't stop laughing about the duck/worm conversation. Michelle said something about the pet worm to Albert, and Albert said "Where would I keep the worm, in a flowerpot?!" .....Huh. Somehow it seemed a lot funnier when it happened.
ANYWAY I cracked an egg a few days ago for my french toast and the yolks were stuck together. Kind of makes me feel bad about eating the egg.
...More like throwing the yolk out since I have high cholesterol, or so my doctor says. It's probably a better idea just to get a carton of egg whites instead of wasting so many egg yolks, but I haven't seen those around in the supermarket that I usually go to.
I decided I'd be all ~fancy~ and stuff today so I decided to make an actual lunch/dinner to pack for school today instead of the usual Wednesday Tuna Fish sandwiches.
I made stir-fry tofu and broccoli with brown rice:
Sorry the actual picture is so huge, I'm feeling too lazy to resize it. I'm proud of myself though! :D It took me about an hour to make this, mostly because I burnt the rice the first time so I had to throw all of that out. I also found out that I didn't know how to make rice without a rice cooker, so I also had to google the instructions.
It's just too bad that it won't be warm when I decide to eat it. :<
Also - I love my thermos. It doesn't leak at all, even though I'm scared that it will, so I always shake it vigorously before I put it in my bag. I filled it with hot tea at around 11 yesterday and it still burned my tongue a few hours later. I went to wash it at around 11ish last night too, and the leftover tea was still warm :O I wouldn't be surprised if it were also bulletproof. Thermos wasn't lying when they said this tumbler kept hot drinks hot for 5 hours.
...Or a heart attack on a plate, as Brian might call it.
They taste really good! The stuff on top is crushed peppermint candies and salt. Salt tastes good. I should probably make them smaller next time though, they're sweet and really dense and I feel kinda sick after eating 2 or 3...
Happy Valentine's Day, dudes~ To celebrate, I bought myself some really cute flats for $20 at Payless! :D These are actually the first (and only) pair of flats that I own. I also found out that I'm a size 6 in womens and not a size 7. I always thought I was a size 7, since I'm a size 5 in mens (aka for Converse and Vans), which is supposed to translate to a size 7 in womens' shoes... apparently not.
I also made some Oreo truffles...!
...for myself. Since you know, I don't have anyone to make them for. ;-; Although I'm not saying that Valentine's day should be the only day that you make/do stuff for someone you love.
I should send some to Michelle and Albert though, ahah. I'll post the pictures of the truffles tomorrow or whenever I actually finish making them.
Oh and I don't know why, but I've always found CellaWeRRa's engrish to be really really.... adorable. Yeah.
I don't know if any of you have seen this, but it made me laugh really hard. Like one of those howling laughs where my mom asks what's wrong with me/why I'm laughing so hard at the computer screen.
Umm but yeah I thought that it was CellaWeRRa and not CellaWerra?
ANYWAY I think I was pretty productive today - I downloaded a .pdf of my physics textbook from some guy who was sick of the publishers making a new edition like every 1 - 2 years.
I also made some good-lookin' pasta. 8)
It's just too bad that it was pretty tasteless with the exception of the cheese.
But anyway yeah I made some granola today, although I nearly burned it because I was taking a shower while it was baking, and I didn't have time to stir it around.
You can see the dirty cup in the background from this morning's breakfast (which was yogurt, raisins, hot chocolate, and a piece of toast and something else I forgot) if you look closely. I have this awful habit of leaving the utensils/bowls from breakfast on my desk and not washing them until dinner. :(
Umm yeah! My mom is coming home late today, so she told my sister and I to make/eat dinner without her. I was going to be a good big sister and cook for both of us - I was planning on making lettuce and mushrooms with some scrambled egg whites with rice. I got everything ready and I looked inside the fridge... there were no more eggs. D:< That's okay I guess, I'll go to plan B instead - mushroom and lettuce salad with yogurt dressing with rice. I got that from something my mom made before with baby spinach and yogurt, it was quite tasty :> Yeah anyway... I somehow ended up cooking the lettuce with the yogurt. And that ended up tasting really bad. I think I was supposed to cook the lettuce first, and then mix in the yogurt.
So then I just mixed the mushrooms with rice and ketchup. It doesn't taste as bad as it sounds. :<
Umm, Christmas didn't really feel like Christmas. We just had dinner with crab, yum~
The other nerds all had something to do today, so it was just Kyle and I being quite lonely. We sort of wanted to play games but we didn't know any games that we could play that wasn't boring with two people that wasn't StarCraft, because we already played that earlier and I guess we got bored of it. So we decided to play some Left 4 Dead and failed because we were playing realism; Kyle got killed by the witch and I dropped the cola to defend myself and couldn't find the cola afterward. :(
I made some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies yesterday though! I've been wanting to make them for a while, but I didn't have all the ingredients/I was lazy. So yeah! In order to feel productive, I made cookies.
Except that the cookies don't really look like cookies. They look like little mounds of... mutated lumps with chocolate chips. They got to be that way because I rolled the cookie dough into little balls and I didn't know that they tend not to spread much. It was like an inch or an inch and a half-thick cookie >_>
It was still really good though. Even my mom liked them, and she never likes the stuff I bake :)
So last night, I got really super duper excited for the lunar eclipse. Except that the freaking moon was RIGHT ABOVE MY HOUSE at around 1 in the morning. I have a really big window on the roof of the hallway, except that the glass it was made of are the type of glasses that make the things you see through them look fuzzy (I don't know what those are called?). So there's no way that I'm going to sit in the middle of the freaking hallway at 1 - 3 in the morning looking through a piece of shitty glass to see a blur of the moon.
Kyle stayed up to watch it though. He said it wasn't that great and that the moon turned more brownish than red/orange, and probably would have been better with a telescope. But still, I would have loved to see that :<
In other news, this is today's breakfast to celebrate the end of the semester...
I think it looks better this way, though :9
And crackers with cheese and ham. I need to cut my nails :(
...But really, I just wanted an excuse to have hot chocolate with marshmallows in the morning.
My family and I went outlet shopping today! My sister and I got matching bracelets from J. Crew:
My sister's arm is the stupid looking one with two watches. It's kinda weird how my arm appears to be tanner than her arm, because I'm paler than she is. It'd be nice not to be all pasty though.
I also got a grey sweater/cardigan thing, a shirt, and pair of blue jeans (yay!). I feel sort of accomplished since I actually got something, since I usually don't buy (or rather, I don't see anything I really like = mom doesn't buy) stuff when we go out and yeah. I'd take more pictures but it's night and the lighting sucks so I won't.
We went to eat dinner at Minado after shopping. Minado is a Japanese seafood buffet; the stuff there is pretty good, but not worth $160 for 4 people ($31 per person + drinks + tax + tips). I didn't take pictures of what I ate, but this was my dessert minus the fruit I had after:
My pooping-ice-cream-out-of-a-machine skills are clearly more superior than my sister's.
DONE
There's a huge fish tank by the entrance of the restaurant, and there was this little fish in the bottom of the tank. It was swallowing the coarse sand from the bottom and spitting them back out via its gills :O! I couldn't get a good picture from my crappy phone camera though.
But if you look closely, you can kind of see the sand falling out from its gills.
...Also, I seem to have broken my text messaging. The send button doesn't work :( I think I'm going to go back to the store to see if I can get a replacement (y'know, with my mom's awesome haggling/convincing skillz). If I can't, I'll use my old phone I guess... if I can find the charger ._.
I was feeling fat today, so I decided to make some cake.
It was made from prepackaged cake mix, so there's nothing really special about it. I usually bake everything from scratch because it actually does taste better most of the time. But I'm not giving the cake away and it's not for a special occasion, I just wanted something sweet and unhealthy so :9
And then some tuna and celery. I ate it kind of like how you'd eat ants on a log, except without the raisins, and the peanut butter would be the tuna.
Here's the tissue paper rose I made yesterday. I told Kyle that I'd blag about it but I forgot, so I'm doing it now. :> It looks more like a crumpled paper ball than a rose though.
